Erasmus Mundus Partnership Action 2 Program
Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Erasmus Mundus (2009-2013) is a cooperation and mobility program in the field of higher education that aims to enhance the quality of European higher education and to promote dialogue and understanding between people and cultures through cooperation with third countries. It continues and extends the activities launched during the first phase in the Erasmus External Cooperation window (2006-2008).
The program also contributes to the development of human resources and the international cooperation capacity of higher education institutions in third countries by increasing mobility between the European Union and these countries.
Erasmus Mundus is implemented in three actions:
1. Joint Master and Doctorate Programs
2. Partnerships
3. Promotion projects
IAMONET-RU is an Action 2 project, which provides support for the establishment of cooperation partnerships and scholarships for European and third-country individuals. The Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Partnerships are the basis for enhancing academic cooperation and exchanges of students and academics, contributing to the socio-economic development of non-EU countries targeted by EU external cooperation policy. The activities of Action 2 Partnerships are:
- Establishment of cooperation and partnerships to support the implementation of the mobility periods
- Scholarships provisions for mobility of various lengths and levels of studies, for European and Third-Country students, scholars, researchers, and professionals.
Action 2 activities are funded by different financial instruments available in the context of the External Relations activities of the Union (i.e. the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument, the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, the Development Cooperation and Economic Cooperation Policy Instrument, the European Development Fund and the Industrialized Countries Instrument).
The European Commission has entrusted the implementation of the Erasmus Mundus program to the Education, Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency (EACEA).
